What the German RAT FÜR FORMGEBUNG says about TOC

This exquisite limited letterpress edition is signed by the author. The books are printed letterpress to a limited run of 998 numbered copies on a 1954 Heidelberg Cylinder using polymer plates. Schleipen Werkdruck 90g/m2 paper is soothing to the eyes and is perfect for long reads. For the dust jackets TOC has chosen Gmund cotton paper, using stylised patterns of classic textiles. Fabric has a structure we can feel, and letterpress printing enhanced the tactile feel of paper. Endpapers change colors from each edition, contrasting each jacket. The linen hardcover is blind-embossed with the author name, title and logo. Sewn binding ensures that the book is easy to open. A spot color highlights the running footer and page details. Typography follows the craft practiced through centuries of the printed page, brought up-to-date by contemporary fonts from young type designers. Combining digitally generated plates with traditional letterpress, TOC books are an exciting mix between analog and digital.
